What does the acquisition of First American mean to Deluxe?

Deluxe is a Trusted Payments & Business Technology company. We help businesses pay, get paid, optimize and grow. The Payments segment is a significant growth area for Deluxe, and we’ll continue to invest in this segment. This is the largest acquisition in Deluxe’s history and the biggest company acquisition in a quarter century. It allows Deluxe to move into another area of the payments space we previously did not operate in, merchant services, doubling our payments business. 

What was the purpose of the announcement today?

Today we announced that Deluxe has legally closed our acquisition of First American Payment Systems and its family of companies, officially bringing them into our Payments division. We are very pleased to begin operating as One Deluxe, a Trusted Payments & Business Technology company and look forward to delivering the many benefits of this powerful combination. We are focused on ensuring an efficient process to bring First American into our company and remain committed to delivering the same exceptional service and quality of work that you have come to expect.

What is the leadership structure?

The First American team will be part of the Payments Division. Their current operating structure will remain relatively the same, with their leadership reporting to Michael Reed, President of Payments for Deluxe. Neil Randel, CEO of First American, will become Managing Director of Deluxe Payments, reporting directly to Michael Reed.
